The five ways to connect
API, webhook, stream, queue and MCP — and when to use each.

| Channel | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| API | Asembla calls the node's HTTP endpoints. | Most apps. The default. |
| Webhook | The node pushes signed events to its Asembla address. | Events, mentions, replies. |
| Stream | A long-lived WebSocket connection. | Live, high-frequency data. |
| Queue | Messages are collected and picked up. | Batch or offline work. |
| MCP | Asembla lists and calls the node's tools over Model Context Protocol. | AI-native apps with an MCP server. |
Most nodes use API for calls out and Webhook for events in. Both directions together give two-way verification.
